The return of Blanch & Shock

Josh Pollen and Mike Knowlden are two of our favourite chefs, and after a couple of years in which they have been busy opening their studio kitchen, Artichoke Mews, in Camberwell, they are finally coming back to Margate on 5 October.  We will be hosting them for one night only, and they will be offering a menu of seasonal small plates with carefully matched wines from Under the Bonnet for those who want them. Here’s a few teasers from the menu..

Fried oysters , burnt birchwood mayonnaise, fermented chilli
Bread and cultured butter
Grilled sweetcorn with dried smoked smelt and cultured butter
Crab, tiny potatoes, whey/dulse hollandaise
Cockle and sweetcorn fig leaf ‘tamal’, fig leaf oil
Radicchio, mussels, redcurrants
Damson ice cream, spiced plum juice, chocolate mint
Geranium ice, honey frozen yoghurt, raspberry

The menu will be available all evening from 6.30pm until 9.30pm.  Reservations are strongly advised!
